We are so excited to be hosting a Family Worship Conference with Shai and Blair Linne here at Hinson on November 15th and 16th!

We all agree God deserves to be worshipped in our homes by our families but often struggle with the "why" and “how?” Where do we begin? Will this make a difference in our life and the lives of those we are called to love? How do we prioritize family worship when life seems so busy? 

Join the Linnes, as they teach about what scripture says regarding the importance of family worship, and give practical steps to implement this practice into your home. The conference is a mix of teaching, singing, spoken word, and ends with a Q & A. They will share what this looks like in their home, and spur you on towards honoring God regularly by extending family worship beyond Sunday mornings. Because life is too busy to neglect God.

September 12-14 | Camp Morrow

Men from Saving Grace, Scholl’s Community, Trinity and Hinson are joining together for a retreat on the Spiritual Disciplines and extended time of fellowship. We will be at Camp Morrow which offers cabins and bunks for lodging. Registration will pay for lodging, food and speaker fees. The registration is flexible so that you can register for both nights or one night depending on your schedule.

Hinson Baptist Church will be hosting a Weekender on May 17-19, 2024. Our Weekender immerses church leaders and seminarians in the life of HBC over the course of a weekend. You’ll get an up-close and personal experience with our services, congregational meeting, focused teaching on the church, plenty of Q&A, and even sit in an Elder Meeting. The point is not to replicate exactly what you see. In fact, we’d prefer you don’t! But we do want to show you what we do and the biblical and pastoral reasoning behind it. We hope this creates meaningful relationships with other churches while building each other up. We would love you to join us. Bring yourselves and whatever questions you have. The focus of this 2024 conference is the important topic of Membership. Many evangelical churches have a form of membership, but how does our theology inform why we have membership? And how should we practice healthy membership for the good of the church? This conference will be helpful to both vocational church leaders as well as lay leaders and congregants as we seek to encourage the breadth of the local church.

Speakers will present nine sessions on building healthy (that is, biblical) churches in light of meaningful membership. We want to think about not just what membership is, but what it means for the local church. There will be many opportunities throughout the conference to ask questions, dialogue with the speakers, and build relationships with other Christians.

Ethnic Unity and the Church Conference 

As Shai Linne has observed, "There are many conversations about ethnicity in the church today. I see a lot of anger, sarcasm, unforgiveness, and mockery. What I don’t see is a lot of humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love."

Join us as we seek to address these potential challenges by listening to God's Word preached, worshiping through song, and seeking the Lord through prayer. During the last conference, it was evident how unique such a gathering must have been in the city of Portland - a joyful, multiethnic assembly of followers of Jesus Christ who are united in the gospel. Many evangelical churches talk about the importance of evangelism, but how does our theology inform our evangelism and how should evangelism effect the health of our church? This conference will be helpful to both vocational church leaders as well as lay leaders and congregants as we seek to encourage the breadth of the local church.

Speakers will present nine sessions on building healthy (that is, biblical) churches in light of evangelism. We want to think about not just what evangelism is, but what it means for the local church. There will be many opportunities throughout the conference to ask questions, dialogue with the speakers, and build relationships with other Christians.
