Our Beliefs — Hinson Baptist Church

Our hope - The Gospel

At the heart of the Bible is the message of the Gospel. This is the message that all of the Old Testament points to and all of the New Testament proclaims. This is the message on which Christians throughout the centuries have staked their lives. And this is the message that continues to ring out today, as God declares how sinners may be saved from His judgment through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Our prayer is that you might not only come to understand the Gospel, but also come to see what it means for your life. What is this message? (click play to listen)

STATEMENT OF FAITH

When looking for a church, it’s essential to know what they believe. Churches typically express this using a Statement of Faith. A Statement of Faith isn’t Scripture itself, doesn't replace God's Word, and isn't an exhaustive summary of doctrine. Rather, it focuses especially on what beliefs we consider essential as Christians and what beliefs we must share to enjoy fellowship together as a local church.

All who join Hinson Baptist Church are required to affirm the following Statement of Faith, which reveals us to be a historically Christian, evangelical, and Baptist church. Our Statement of Faith is based on the New Hampshire Confession of Faith (1853), which is used by thousands of other Baptist churches.

Far from being a document to which we merely give mental assent, our prayer is that our lives together would increasingly reflect the hope we have for being accepted by God that it describes. The depth of this statement is valuable toward that end: it not only expresses our essential beliefs, but also instructs the whole church toward deeper understanding of God’s Word and growing unity around these essentials.
