Pastoral Residency
Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you.
2 Timothy 1:13-14
Our commitment
As a church, we are committed to seeing the gospel spread to the ends of the earth. One of our convictions here at Hinson is that no one church is big enough to fulfill the Great Commission by itself. Rather, our desire is to see many healthy churches throughout our city, our nation, and our world.
The pastoral residency program at Hinson affords us the occasion to focus time, attention and resources on the training of future pastors, who will give themselves to serving Christ’s church, both here and around the world. Our purpose is not to invest in the ministries of our church through this program. Rather, our goal is to pour into these men as they spend a semester with us studying, reflecting, and observing. The content of this program will be focused particularly on a theology of the church, matters of church polity, the role of God’s Word in preaching and teaching, and pastoral ministry and leadership.
About the residency
Residents accepted into the program are expected to join Hinson Baptist Church, having signed our Statement of Faith and Church Covenant. They are offered a stipend of $1000 per month, with an additional $500 per month towards housing. Residencies typically run from early August until mid-December with anywhere from three to six residents in each class. Acceptance into and/ or completion of the program in no way implies our affirmation of your sense of call and future employment at Hinson Baptist Church is not to be expected.
Are you Interested?

Wherever the Lord leads you to serve, it is our prayer that He would be using all of us to bear fruit for Kingdom.
